Terrence “Quincy” Jesse Long, 28, returned to his heavenly home on March 22, 2024. Quincy was born on April 8, 1995 in Columbia, South Carolina to Shirley White and Jesse Long. He had three older siblings: Merrick Crosby, LaTosha White, and Jessica Long.
Quincy’s greatest and proudest moment was the birth of his daughter, Lisa Allen. The two were inseparable. Quincy and Lisa enjoyed having jam sessions on their guitars, making each other laugh, and building impenetrable forts (using only the finest quality couch cushions and pillows, of course!).
His extraordinary love for music was well-known, and he would often incorporate this love into every facet of his life. An astounding guitarist, he joined local rock band, Robot Plant, while he attended Spring Valley High School. The band would perform cover songs all over the Southeast. Later on, Quincy would become a songwriter and band member of Carolina English. He also provided guitar lessons to children in his spare time.
The proud founder of, “The Just Now Podcast,” Quincy would discuss various topics ranging from politics, to comedy, to current events.
His friends and family will remember him as the dependable, caring, giving, hilarious person that he was, and for his infectious laughter. Quincy was the embodiment of unconditional love, strength of spirit and character, and an unending generosity toward his mother, daughter, family, friends, and countless others.
Quincy is survived by his mother, Shirley White, his father, Jesse Long; his daughter, Lisa Allen; his sisters, Jessica Long and LaTosha White; his brother, Merrick Crosby; his nephew, Jason Hart, Jr.; his niece, Antasia Crosby; his uncles, Ted White (Pearline) and Fletcher Long (Wanda); his aunts, Annette Josey (the late Danny Josey), Cynthia McNeely (Mark), Lynn Travis (Hertis), and Pam Johnson; and a host of family and friends.
