Albert “POT” Richardson of Richland County was born on August 23, 1946, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Randall and Millie Richardson.
“POT” as he was called by his family and friends, was educated in the Public Schools of Richland County. He was employed at various Owens Steel Plants for over thirty years as an expert welder. Albert “POT”, had many passions but his true passion was raising farm animals and watching the things he planted in the garden grow. Albert loved everyone and he never met a stranger. His caring spirit and willingness to help others earned him everlasting friendships and respect.
God’s plan is not always our plan. On March 23, 2024, at his home, the angels came for him to be with his Heavenly Father. We will brave the grief that comes with it and try to understand it.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his sons, John (Tabitha) Richardson, Albert (Shamekia) Richardson, and Christopher Richardson; grandchildren, Jazmine (Eric) Moore, T’Aundra Richardson, Christopher K. Richardson, Keshondra Richardson; great-grands, Erin Moore, Erielle Moore, Eriyana Moore, Laila Smith-Coffman; brothers, Eddie (Josephine) Richardson, Joseph Richardson, and Alexander (Portia) Richardson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marie (Nathan) Gibson, Mary (Samuel) Rice, Viola (Charles) Duckett, James Bannister, and William Natha
